Backyard Wedding in Stillwater, Minnesota

The rain, mud, the gorgeous DIY details, and the love of Addison and Alisha made for the most perfect wedding day in Stillwater, Minnesota. Their wedding had a boho, outdoor, adventure vibe that was so refreshingly beautiful!

I first meet Addison at a wedding I was photographing in 2015. Later, when Alisha's sister became engaged, I then had the honor of meeting Alaura (Alisha's sister) and photographing her and Josh's wedding. Shortly after Alaura's engagement, Alisha and Addison became engaged and contacted me with so much excitement! Their engagement session which took place earlier in downtown Buffalo gave me just a glimpse into how much fun their wedding would be!

The wedding festivities took place on Addison's parent's property in Stillwater, Minnesota. I loved being able to see everything come together given the snapchats Alisha would send me in preparation of the wedding day! Rain on a wedding day means good luck, right? Alisha and Addison walked through mud, embraced the rain during their first look, and shared a few songs of worship during their intimate ceremony in the woods. Going with their theme of adventure, it was only fitting for the guests to sign a canvas map that can be used for decoration in the new Ellis household. At the end of the evening they were sent off with love and lighting floating lanterns. I feel so blessed to have had three of the couples I have photographed in the last year at this wedding - I am so thankful for each and every one of them!
