September Backyard Wedding, Maple Lake

The first time I met up with Megan and she told me she was getting married in her fiancé’s parents backyard, I got SO excited. We chatted about what she and Tyler had envisioned for their fall wedding and it came together perfectly with the help of the Rustic Elegance team!

The two exchanged letters to one another, as well as Tyler surprising Megan with a special note on her shoes. For their adorable backyard ceremony by the lake, they even had a drink station so guests could stay refreshed while vows were exchanged. They also had one of the cutest ring bearers ever (just wait till you see!). After their ceremony, the cocktail hour and reception began where guests were given succulent plants as wedding favors - such a cute idea! The bundt cake display was also a sight to see - seriously wedding desserts are my weakness - YUM! Megan and Tyler joined their guests at the reception by riding on the tailgate of Tyler’s stepdad’s vintage truck, it was so stinking cool!

After speeches, the couple and I snuck out for sunset photos where we chased the light and ended photos on the dock with the beautiful dusk light. Coming back into the reception, the two shared their first dance as well as dances with their parents. Before I left, we snuck away once more for a few minutes to take photos underneath the pretty cafe lights by the chicken coup in the dark of night! It was such a great way to end the evening!
