After being together for ten years, Sammy and Cortlan officially tied the knot and got married in December of 2017! The two exchanged their vows at St. Mary's Catholic Church and then continued the celebration at the gorgeous 912 Regency Plaza downtown St. Cloud.
The day began getting ready at Sammy's parents home, which is where she slipped into her long sleeved lace wedding gown and Cortlan adjusted his bowtie and put on his attire. Then, downtown, Cortlan and Sammy shared their first look with one another. What a sweet sight it was, to see these two lay eyes on one another for the first time that day, the day that would hold a significance in their relationship for the rest of their lives. After, some chilly bridal party photos with one of the most FUN groups I have ever gotten the chance to photograph (thanks for being troopers you guys :) ), everyone got into place for the ceremony to begin. Vows were exchanged, the message was ministered, the two kept sneaking in smiles and giggles throughout the ceremony (loved seeing this <3)
After the ceremony, Sammy and Cortlan snuck over to 912 Regency quick before the guests were allowed into the ballroom - they hadn't yet seen the finished product of all their planning and the help from friends who contributed putting it all together. And boy... were their reactions priceless! The venue space looked AMAZING. So many intricate details. Including, the wedding favors of homemade maple syrup that a family member made.
The night finished with emotional speeches by members of their bridal party, precious dances with the bride dancing with her dad and the groom dancing with his mom, and of course, the bride and groom sharing their first dance <3 Since 912 Regency has an AMAZING patio space with lights, I asked Sammy and Cortlan if they were alright sneaking away from the reception for a few minutes to grab a few photos of them. Sure enough, they said "Of course!" And you guys, the result was magic! Love love LOVE when my couples trust me and agree to take a couple minutes to sneak away from everything to take a few photos! A lot of times, it's the first moment the bride and groom get to be alone as husband and wife. I definitely try to say "husband" and "wife" as many times as possible during that time because it brings the biggest smile to each of their faces. Sammy and Cortlan did just that. <3
I hope you all enjoy the post about their big day!! :)
